The Saskatchewan government is recognizing this week as Innovation Week.
The week will celebrate researchers, entrepreneurs, organizations and companies that have shaped the research and technology landscape in the province.
Innovation Saskatchewan minister Jeremy Harrison says innovation is central to the province’s economic growth and supporting the transformation and diversification of key sectors.
Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the provincial economy.
He says Innovation Saskatchewan works directly with industry and other stakeholders to support the commercialization of research and technology.
He says the goal is to triple the tech sector in the province by 2030 and maximize the economic potential of research infrastructure.
