The Search for Frank Young Continues

Hope and resilience continue to drive the community of The Red Earth Cree Nation as they search for 5 year old Frank Young.

It’s been 27 days since the boy went missing – last being seen at a school playground.

Michelle Vandervord – president of the Prince Albert Grand Council Search Rescue and recovery team joined FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron in an appeal to the provincial government for more support in the continued search.

“we need help. We need more people on the ground. If you are able to – I am asking my first nation, sisters, brothers and cousins to please help the family and to come and help search. We will not give up until frank is brought home.”

Additionally an appeal was put forward by Bobby Cameron to provincial and federal leadership for assistance. The community is hopeful that further help will be given by the province in the search for Young. A call placed to the office of the premier by 620 CKRM has not been returned.

Franks’s Grandmother Teresa Whitecap also spoke from Prince Albert today – reiterating the hope the community has.

“Each day we hope that Frank will be brought home to us. The hope that we are going to see Frank keeps us going every day, ” Whitecap said.

To date more than ninety square kilometers have been searched for the boy.
