Saskatchewan farmers made some seeding progress this past week despite rainy weather in parts of the province.
Provincial crops extension specialist Matt Struthers says seeding is 33 percent complete, up from 14 percent a week ago but behind the average of 53 percent.
He says several areas had a downpour of rain this past week, including Estevan at 120 millimeters, Weyburn 92 millimeters, Big Beaver 87 millimeters and Moosomin at 75 millimeters.
He says many parts of the western grainbelt remain dry and need rain.
Seeding ranges from 60 percent in the southwest to 8 percent in the northeast part of the grainbelt.
