Two men charged in separate Saturday robberies

A pair of robberies kept Regina city police busy Saturday night.

Police say a suspect entered a store in the 2200 block of Victoria Avenue at about 6 p.m. with a knife and threatened to shoot a staff member with a gun before taking an item and leaving the business.

Police went to the area and shortly after, they arrested a suspect matching the description, 31-year-old Danton Cole McKay of Regina without incident.

McKay has been charged with robbery and breach of probation and will appear in provincial court Tuesday.

Police received a report at about 11:30 p.m. of an adult male who had been assaulted by another adult male in the 1600 block of 11th Avenue and took personal property from him. Police went to the area, found a man matching the description and arrested him without incident.

David Anaskan, 28, was charged with robbery and breach of probation and he will also make his first appearance on those charges Tuesday in provincial court.
