A 39-year-old man is facing charges after he broke into a business over the weekend.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday police were called to the 700 Block of Broad Street for a report of a theft in progress.

The caller stated that they were observing a male suspect attempting to steal a muffler from one of the vehicles in the parking lot before he disappeared from the caller’s view.

Officers later located the suspect in the locked compound of another business nearby.

The suspect was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of the stolen property and a weapon. He is now facing a number of charges including breaking and entering.

The 39-year-old Regina man will make his first court appearance on July 5.
