Second verse, same as the first.
There are reports the CFL and the CFLPA have reached a tentative contract agreement.
According to CFL Insider John Hodge, there is a 1.25 million dollars signing bonus on the table for the players, a major sticking point that was a factor in the last deal being voted down by the players.
The players still have to ratify the deal through a vote before 10 o’clock tonight, a deadline set by the league previously to have a deal in place.
Pre-Season games are scheduled this weekend. The Riders game against Winnipeg was postponed from Monday May 23rd, to Tuesday May 31st.
The Riders are scheduled to make a trip to BC for a second pre season game Friday June 3rd.
The vote is by no means a rubber stamp, or formality. The players were encouraged by the bargaining committee and their own union to accept an offer from the CFL last week, but the players voted against it.
