Monday afternoon stabbing leads to charges

The Regina Police Service has released more information regarding the Monday afternoon stabbing.

An 18-year-old male is facing a criminal charge of aggravated assault after the stabbing on 12th Avenue and Albert Street.

This incident resulted in injuries and hospitalization for the 41-year-old man.

At 1:56 p.m., police were dispatched to the 12th Avenue and Albert Street area after the Communications Centre received numerous reports of two men fighting.

When police arrived, they found a 41-year-old male at the intersection of 12th and Angus Street, who had sustained what appeared to be a stab wound.

A member of the public helped the victim until EMS arrived and transported him to the hospital.

Officers got a description of the suspect and found a man matching his description nearby with him being arrested without incident.

Police also recovered an edged weapon believed to have been used in the assault.

Eighteen-year-old Kevin Billings-Barth, of Regina, is charged with Aggravated Assault and made his first court appearance in Provincial Court on Tuesday.
