A 59-year-old woman was charged after a hit and run on Thursday.

Just before 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of 14th Avenue and Albert Street for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

A red sedan was described as leaving the scene before police arrived. When officers did arrive, they found a 32-year-old woman victim who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers found the suspect’s vehicle driving north on Angus Street, approaching Saskatchewan Drive, where a traffic stop was initiated with the driver being arrested.

The 59-year-old is charged with failing to stop after a collision that results in bodily harm and is released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on August 3.
