Heat Warnings issued for west and central Saskatchewan

Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for the western and central Saskatchewan.

Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Outlook, Battlefords and Kindersley areas are all under heat advisories as the first major heat event hits Saskatchewan this weekend.

The warnings are in place because humidex values could exceed +40 on Saturday.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

The signs of heat illness to watch out for include swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

A return to normal temperatures are expected to happen on Sunday morning.
