Agriculture Canada has announced an online consultation process is open on a National Farm Labour strategy.

The online consultation is open from now until September 28th.

The process will seek recommendations to address chronic farm workforce challenges to build short and long-term solutions to attract a skilled workforce.

The federal government is reaching out to employers, unions, workers and other key groups to develop a labor strategy for agriculture.

A number of areas of focus have been identified, including the use of automation and technology, targeted skills and training, employment incentives, working conditions and programs to recruit workers.

The federal government says it is committed to taking concrete action to resolve ongoing farm labour challenges.
