Yager wins CHL Rookie of the Year

Brayden Yager of the Moose Jaw Warriors claimed the CHL Rookie of the Year on Tuesday. This award follows Yager winning the WHL’s Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as WHL Rookie of the Year.

The 17 year old scored 34 goals this past season which topped 2005-born WHL rookies.

Yager becomes the first Moose Jaw Warrior to win the CHL Rookie of the Year Award. The last WHL player to take home the award was Brett Connolly in 2009.

A third overall selection by the Warriors in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Yager is eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft.
