15-year-old charged with first degree murder in city’s sixth homicide

The Regina Police Service has charged a 15-year-old with first-degree murder in the City’s sixth homicide of 2022.

It was in the early morning hours of Wednesday that police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Rae Street. When they arrived they found a 14-year-old dead in the alley as well as a 32-year-old woman who was injured.

An investigation from police led to the arrest of the 15-year-old who is charged with:

  • First-Degree Murder
  • Assault With a Weapon
  • Discharge a Firearm in a Reckless Manner
  • 2x Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized; and
  • Fail to Comply with Condition

The identity of the accused youth cannot be released in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He made this first court appearance in Youth Court on Thursday.
