Global punter Jimmy Smith has returned to the Saskatchewan Roughriders roster after a short stint with the Calgary Stampeders.

Smith was sent to the Riders in a trade on Monday afternoon.

The punter was originally traded to the Stamps on June 5 with the Riders receiving a third round selection in the 2023 Global CFL Draft and a seventh round selection in the 2023 CFL Draft. The Riders will return the draft pick in the Global Draft but will keep the seventh round selection in the CFL Draft.

Smith played in three games for the Stampeders this season. The University of Cincinnati product signed with the Riders in April after spending time with the Tennessee Titans in 2021.
