Crop damage claim numbers from June hailstorms in Saskatchewan are above normal.
The president of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Scott McQueen, says claim numbers are up but damage is generally light, although some areas had severe loss.
Hail ranged from pea to baseball in size.
McQueen says crop hail claims in the final week of June across the prairies reached almost 13 hundred.
He says a June 23rd storm stretched across a wide portion of the province, dumping hail through Langenburg and Churchbridge and into Manitoba.
