Police Add Few Details After “Emergency Alert” Order

There are a few more details on what happened in Langham last Friday, and why police issued an emergency alert, ordering everyone in the area to shelter in place.

According to the RCMP, it started with a report of someone uttering threats. While responding to that call, police were told there had been a shooting.

When police arrived they found a 38 year old man, who was dead. A home was on fire just down the same street, at the same time.

Police issued an emergency alert for 46 year old Justin Heimbecker, and began to look for him.

Once the fire was out in the home down the street from the shooting, police were able to enter the house, and that’s where they found Heimbecker, dead. It was his house, according to police.

Police will not be releasing the victim’s name, but police confirm the two men did know each other, but were not related.
