Red Sox winning streak ends in Weyburn

The Regina Red Sox were unable to move into first place of the East Division on Tuesday as the Weyburn Beavers beat the Red Sox 5-3.

The Red Sox had won their last four games.

Regina trails Moose Jaw by a half of a game for the division lead, the Miller Express lost to Swift Current on Tuesday, keeping the Red Sox deficit in tact.

The Red Sox scored all of their runs in the top of the first inning to grab a 3-0 lead.

Weyburn would get all of their runs late in the game. First they scored a run in the seventh inning, followed by four more runs in the eighth inning.

Shortstop Zane Zielinski had three RBIs for the Red Sox in the loss.

The Red Sox will have the day off on Wednesday before they host Weyburn on Thursday at Currie Field.

Opening pitch is set for 7:05.
