A Saskatchewan farm leader has been selected as the new general manager of the Canadian Cattle Association.
Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association CEO Ryder Lee is the new gm of the national group.
He says issues facing producers include a serious beef price disparity between farmgate and store shelf.
As well, he wants to see improvements to federal-provincial farm business risk programs.
Lee wants to see livestock price insurance as a permanent program and cost-shared like crop insurance.
Lee has been with the Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association for 7 years.
Previously, he was a policy analyst for the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association in Ottawa.
