With the Saskatchewan Roughriders having difficulties fielding a full roster this week due to the team’s COVID outbreak, the football club has added three Canadian players.

The team signed National defensive lineman Alain Cimankinda, National defensive back Vincent Dethier and National linebacker Jared Beeksma on Thursday.

Cimankinda attended the Riders rookie camp in 2022 after spending last season on the practice roster. The Former Guelph Gryphon was the Riders 4th round pick in the 2021 CFL Draft.

Dethier was selected by the Saskatchewan in 2020 CFL Draft in the 5th round, he spent the 2021 season on the injured list with a torn ACL. The  McGill product played in the Riders preseason game against Winnipeg.

Beeksma was drafted by Hamilton Ti-Cats in the 5th round of the 2022 CFL Draft and was on the team’s practice roster.
