Riders bring back Shaq Cooper

The Saskatchewan Roughriders made a move at running back as they’ve signed Shaq Cooper.

In another move, the Riders released National defensive back Vincent Dethier.

Cooper joined Saskatchewan in the offseason after spending the 2021 season with Winnipeg and BC. The Fort Hays State product was released by the Riders following training camp.

The running back also spent two seasons with Edmonton. His best season was in 2019 when he rushed for 352 yards for Edmonton along with 112 yards receiving.

On Tuesday, the Riders were without Frankie Hickson at practice due to an illness.
