The Saskatchewan Day long weekend is almost upon us and it’s looking like it’ll be a hot one.
Sunny, hot and dry conditions are on tap for much of the province this weekend.
“Southern Saskatchewan as a whole… is looking very warm this long weekend, with daytime high temperatures approaching 30 all weekend, and even into next week,” said Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Jesse Wagar. “It’s quite the stretch of hot weather for Regina coming up here.”
There were some record setting temperatures recorded in Alberta and British Columbia Thursday, with Grand Prairie getting up to 35.2 and the mercury in Fort McMurray climbing up to 33.7.
We likely won’t be getting that high, with Regina’s record high for Friday was 37.2, set in 1975, and Saturday’s record of 37.8 was set in 1936.
