Province sees spike in outbreaks, cases in latest COVID-19 report

There has been a spike in the number of lab confirmed cases and outbreaks in the province’s latest COVID report.

There was an average of 384 cases per week from July 17 to August 13, which is nearly twice as much as the 209 cases per week back in the report covering June 26 to July 16.
Test positivity is up to 7.4 per cent from four per cent in that time frame. Central East and Saskatoon have the highest test positivity in the province at 10 per cent.

There were 46 outbreaks reported between July 17 and Aug. 13. That compares to three between June 26 and July 16.

The number of hospital admissions were 122 per week, with the number of ICU admissions at seven per week. That compares to 88 and seven in the previous report.

There were also 27 deaths in this time frame, or, about seven per week, compared to the seven per week in the last report.
