Dawn Walker makes her first court appearance this morning in Saskatoon.
She and her seven year old son were reported missing on July 24th and later her truck and some of her belongings were found at Chief Whitecap Park.
They were found in the U.S. in Oregon.
Walker is facing charges there related to using false documents to cross the border, and Saskatoon, her charges are mischief and child abduction.
The FSIN says Walker was fleeing from alleged domestic abuse. They are demanding her immediate release, and a review of all of the domestic abuse complaints Walker has filed, and how those complaints were handled by police.
Supporters of the 48 year old are holding a Circle of Support at Saskatoon Provincial Court this morning, ahead of her first court appearance at 9.
A news release from the organizers says , “We stand with Dawn Walker in support of stopping the criminalization of survivors of violence”.
