Highway work happening all over during Labour Day weekend

The Labour Day Classic will be bringing many people into Regina this weekend, but pretty much anywhere you go, you’ll find construction and traffic restrictions.
Projects around the Queen City include work on Highway 11 bridge repairs through Lumsden and the Highway 11 over Highway 6 overpass just north of Regina.
There was still crack sealing going on on the Trans Canada just west of Regina.
The department of highways is asking motorists to be alert and pay attention to the many sites with workers and machinery present, and slow to 60 in the work zone.

“Drivers can prevent accidents in construction zones by slowing down, being patient, and planning to pass the time enjoying music, conversation, or the scenery when they are delayed. In making safe choices behind the wheel, they help ensure everyone returns home to enjoy what matters most this weekend,” said SCSA president Collin Pullar in a media release.

Speeding fines are tripled in work zones.
Check the Highway Hotline for the latest construction conditions.
