Moore charged with weapons offences after search of his Saskatchewan residence

Benjamin Martin Moore, the man involved in an Amber Alert incident last month that went from Eastend Saskatchewan down to Sturgis, South Dakota, has some new charges.

Upon a search of his property, RCMP have charged him with possession of three crossbows, arrows and arrowheads in breach of a prohibition order. They had also charged him last month with failing to report a change in his address, as required by his status as a sex offender.

Currently, he and his common law partner remain in the United States in custody.

Moore’s extradition from the United States to Canada is not being considered at this time as police investigations in both countries are ongoing.

RCMP say that privacy provisions prevent them from sharing information about the children at the centre of the case, other than that they are safe and receiving proper supports.
