Today is Canada’s first-ever National Cinema Day, and it’s sparked a nationwide promotion in thousands of movie theatres.
For today only, movie tickets are being offered for a mere three dollars.
Regina is no exception. Landmark Cinema on Aurora Blvd in east Regina is offering $3 movie tickets for all seating.
“Normally, the laser-ultra (seats) are $5 more, premiere seats are $2 more, but given the event, we’re just doing $3 flat for everything. So, even if you were to do the laser-ultra, which would usually be $19 plus $2 for a premiere seat, instead of paying $22, you’re looking at $3. It’s an amazing deal,” says Gregory Krafka, Experience Manager at Landmark Cinema Regina.
The theatre is playing some major titles for the promotion.
“Top Gun Maverick has been one of our best-selling films, and we’re continuing to show that. What also ended up happening is that we brought back Spiderman No Way Home, and it’s called the ‘more fun’ edition because it’s got eleven minutes of bonus footage,” says Krafka.
Landmark Cinema will also be playing movies from a variety of different genres like After Ever Happy, The Invitation, Thor Love and Thunder, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Elvis, and much more.
More titles, showtimes, as well as seating availability, can be found on their website.
Concession food and drink prices will stay the same.
