10 Dead In Stabbing Spree: Suspects Still On the Loose

As this is an on going, developing incident,  we will provide the latest updates as they come in from police.

UPDATE 3:50pm

The RCMP are continuing to search for the two suspects.  Police revealed there were ten people dead between the James Smith Cree Nation, and the community of Walden.  Police say there were 15 people taken to hospital, but suggest there could be even more people who were injured, and took themselves to hospital.  Police are urging those victims who haven’t spoken with them yet to call them immediately.  Beyond the sighting by a driver in Regina, there is no indication where the two suspects could be.

 

UPDATE 3:20PM:

The RCMP have scheduled a news conference for 3:40pm.  Its expected they will update the search for the two fugitives.  We will have the latest information for you as we receive it.

 

UPDATE 2:33PM:

Police are continuing to look for the suspects, and have not released anymore information.  The Regina Police Service has announced it has added officers to the Stadium area, as a huge sell out crowd will be in the area for the Labour Day Classic.  The Roughriders also announced enhanced security in the stadium area, and surrounding grounds out of an abundance of caution.

 

UPDATE 12:12pm

Police report the suspects were spotted in the Arcola area of Regina, driving a black Nissan Rogue described in a previous update.  People in that area should consider staying where they are for the time being.  DO NOT approach the suspects, or the vehicles.

 

 

The RCMP has issued a warning for a pair of dangerous people on the James Smith Cree Nation near Melfort.

RCMP has received several calls about stabbings in the area and are on the lookout for two male suspects. Those in that area are asked to seek immediate shelter or shelter in place, and use caution allowing people into your residence.

The two individuals sought are Damien Sanderson, 5-7, 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and Myles Sanderson, 6’1 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say there are multiple victims in multiple locations, including James Smith Cree Nation and the Weldon area. Indications are that the victims are being attacked randomly.

According to the Stars Ambulance twitter feed, 3 separate star ambulance has been dispatched to James Smith Cree Nation since this situation began.

The suspects may be driving a black Nissan Rogue with Saskatchewan license plate 1-1-9 M-P-I.

The vehicle was recently seen in Regina traveling in the Arcola Avenue area around 11:45 am.

“This is a rapidly-unfolding situation. We urge the public to take appropriate precautions,” the RCMP said in a media release.

Do not approach suspicious persons, pick up hitchhikers and report suspicious persons, emergencies or information to 911. RCMP are also asking not to disclose police locations.
