For the second day in a row, Saskatchewan is subject to a “dangerous persons” alert from the Saskatchewan RCMP.
This is not believed to be connected to the on-going search for two suspects who killed 10 people, and injured 18 others in nearby James Lake Cree Nation.
The Saskatchewan RCMP advise shots have been fired on the Witchekan Lake First Nation, just north of the community of Spiritwood. Police say the suspects may be in the area, on foot.
People on that first nation, and nearby areas are being warned to seek shelter, and stay there for the time being. The release from the RCMP made no mention of victims.
Minutes after the alert was issued, police said there is a chance the suspects they are looking for are in a mid-2000’s dark red Mustang. If you see this vehicle, contact police immediately, and do not approach these people.
We will provide any updates that come in.
