RCMP are responding to a report that one of the most wanted men in Saskatchewan’s history, Myles Sanderson, has been sighted on the James Smith Cree Nation.

RCMP are telling people in the area to shelter in place or seek a safe place immediately.

Sanderson is being sought in connection with a stabbing spree that saw 11 die and 19 injured.

UPDATE: (2:15 P.M) (the Canadian Press)

RCMP in Saskatchewan have surrounded a home on the James Smith Cree Nation, after a possible sighting of a suspect in a series of deadly stabbings.

A notice sent through the provincial emergency alert system says investigators received a report that Myles Sanderson had been seen in the community.

Several police cars were parked near the home, and residents in the area were told to seek shelter.

Sanderson is one of the accused in stabbings that happened over the weekend at several locations northeast of Saskatoon, on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the nearby village of Weldon.

His bother, Damien Sanderson, had also been a suspect.

He was found dead yesterday in a grassy area not far from one of the crime scenes.

R-C-M-P have said 10 men and women were killed, and 18 were injured in the attacks, not including the suspects.

RCMP said that further investigation into reports of sightings of Sanderson determined he was not located on James Smith Cree Nation.

The RCMP continue to search for Sanderson and urge the public to take appropriate measures, and they once again activated the emergency alert for the entire province.
