Moose Jaw is recognizing it’s ‘Notoriously Good’ neighbours with award program

Moose Jaw is looking to reward its Notoriously Friendly neighbours.

The city has created a “Notoriously Good Neighbour” recognition program and it’s sponsored by the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s to remind people about the Notorious Nine good neighbour guideline policy… It’s such things as property maintenance, fire pits, pet ownership, snow removal and we’re trying to reward people that look after the neighbourhood, take care of boulevards, and clean up alleys and just generally maintain their property and help maintain the city property in their neighbourhoods,” says Moose Jaw Mayor Clive Tolley.

People can nominate their neighbours for the award through the City of Moose Jaw website online or through the City of Moose Jaw app.

“We’ve already got seven nominations in the first two days. The first winner is going to be announced at the end of September and then we plan to name a winner each month following that,” says Tolley.

The winner will receive a Notoriously Good Neighbour certificate of achievement as well as a gift card to a local business.

People can also show additional recognition of their notoriously good neighbours by posting on social media and using #NotoriouslyGood.
