Regina man arrested after day of dangerous driving

Police arrested and charged a 37-year-old Regina man with dangerous driving after a series of incidents.

On Sunday, police were dispatched at 3:25 p.m. for a report of a black truck driving at a high rate of speed and crashing through a fence on Dixon Cresent. A short time later, a black Chevrolet 2500 hit an unmarked police vehicle in the 1200 block of Bond Street. Over the next few hours, several reports described the same vehicle with aggressive driving actions.

Officers attempted to keep the vehicle under observation. Still, it was seen driving more than 100 km/h and disobeying traffic signals, where it later collided with two parked vehicles on Langley Street, and the driver then fled on foot.

Police caught and arrested 37-year-old Christopher Derek Short of Regina.

He is charged with:

  • 2x failure to stop after an accident
  • Operate conveyance in a manner dangerous to public
  • Breach of probation
  • Possession of property (vehicle) obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Impaired operation of conveyance

Shore made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
