City of Regina launches pesticide study

The city of Regina has launched an online survey over the use of cosmetic pesticides.

The results will help inform city council’s consideration of possible regulations or a ban.

Cosmetic pesticides are considered nonessential and used for aesthetic purposes.

The University of Regina has been contracted to research pesticide bans in other parts of Canada and alternative approaches to pest management.

The cosmetic pesticide online survey is open until October 10th, with a final decision from city council sometime in early 2023.
