The Regina airport will have smoke coming out of it and emergency crews rushing into it , but… it’s just an exercise.

They will be simulating an aircraft accident near the main runway.

The exercise will run from 8 a.m. to noon and will test the capabilities of the emergency response plans and the teams of local partners.

You might see large plumes of smoke coming from the airport at the time, but don’t be alarmed as it’s all part of the controlled emergency exercise.

Regina fire and police will be involved, as will customs and border security.
