Rams remain alone in second place after win over Golden Bears

The University of Regina Rams improved to 4-1 on the season as they defeated the University of Alberta Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon at Leibel Field.

Bennett Stusek had six receptions for 99 yards in the win for the Rams. On the ground, running back Olivier Savard had 68 yards rushing along with a touchdown. QB Noah Pelletier had 227 yards passing with an interception.

Aldo Galvin kicked three field goals (14,25,32) for the Rams.

Alberta opened up with a 8-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Rams would regain the lead in the second quarter with 12 unanswered points.

Anthony Bennett continued his strong season moving into the Rams records book with his 6.5 sack of the season.

The Rams are now along in second spot in the Canada West standings at 4-1. The next matchup for the University of Regina will be in two weeks, when they meet their provincial rivals, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in Saskatoon on October 15. The Huskies are on top of the standings at 5-0.
