The Regina Pats have added some local flavour to their lineup.
One Tuesday, the Pats acquired 2005 born forward Sam Oremba from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for three draft picks, a 2023 second round pick, a 2024 first round pick and a 2025 third round pick.
Last season the 17-year-old helped the Thunderbirds reach the Western Hockey League final. Oremba had 14 points (4G-10) in 56 with Seattle.
Back in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Seattle selected Oremba with the seventh pick.
Before joining the Thunderbirds, the forward spent time with the Regina Pat Canadians and Regina Monarchs. During the 2019-20 season, Oremba broke Jaden Schwartz’s SBAAHL points record with 133 points (75G-58A) in 31 games.
