Two Rams pick up Canada West Football player of the week honours

 

A pair of members from the University of Regina Rams football team were recognized by Canada West Football following Saturday’s 19-14 win over the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Anthony Bennett was once again named defensive player of the week. While kicker, Aldo Galvan was named the special teams player of the week.

Bennett had six tackles and 2.5 tackles for losses against the Golden Bears. He leads the conference in sacks with 6.5 and is tied for 1st in U SPORTS.

Galvan collected ten of the Rams of 19 points against the University of Alberta. He also averaged 52.7 yards on seven punts, including three that landed inside of the Golden Bears 20 yard line. His longest punt was 64 yards.

The Rams are off this week with a bye, their next action is Saturday October 15, when they travel to Saskatoon, to meet the undefeated University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
