The Saskatchewan Health Authority has formally assumed responsibility for five Extendicare long term homes in Saskatchewan.
There are three care homes in Regina, one in Moose Jaw and another in Saskatoon under the Extendicare banner.
The agreement was announced last October but became efffective this past weekend. There are 1,300 staff at the five locations.
There were 39 residents who died at Extendicare Parkside of COVID in late 2020 and early 2021.
