Wind Warnings have been issued for southern Saskatchewan.
Environmennt and Climate Change Canada has issued the warnings for the areas around Gravelbourg and Assinaboia, as well as Estevan, Weyburn, Radville and Milestone areas.
There are concerns wind gusts could top 90 kilometres an hour in those areas. Those are the only weather warnings when it comes to the wind.
The alert from ECC says “strong northwesterlies will redevelop today, with winds strengthening to 60 gusting to 90 km/h by midday. Winds will diminish below severe criteria by early evening.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.”
Wind gusts in Regina aren’t expected to reach that level, but they will be pretty punchy, with gusts expected to hit around 80 kilometres an hour.
