With the big game on the gridiron less than a month away, details of several of the events taking place during the 2022 Grey Cup Festival were announced on Thursday morning by the organizing committee.
Several events will be taking place from November 15-20 in REAL District’s indoor spaces along with NexGen Energy Street Festival across the REAL District Grounds and in Confederation Park.
Colin James will headline the free, all ages SiriusXM Kickoff party on Wednesday, November 16 at the International Trade Centre at REAL District.
Among the events that were announced on Thursday includes the Cheer Extravaganza. A high energy, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, November 19 1-3 pm, and will feature performances from CFL cheer and dance teams, along with some local groups.
Huddle in the Heartland presented by Sask. Lotteries, will allow youths 5-12 to develop their football skills through interactive programming. It’s from November 17-19 11-9 pm.
Randy Ambrosie will give his CFL Commissioner State of the League Address on Friday, November 18, where he will provide an update on the league as well take questions from the media and fans.
On Grey Cup Sunday, the Capital Auto Tailgate party will feature live entertainment for Grey Cup ticket holders, from 12-5 pm. Entertainment acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Roughriders President & CEO Craig Reynolds says the halftime act will be announced by the league next week, he said the organizing committee are pleased with the selection and are looking forward to the announcement.
