Pats acquire Shantz and draft pick from Prince George in exchange for Dubinsky

 

The Regina Pats and Prince George Cougars completed a trade on Friday, with the Pats picking up 17 year old forward Zackary Shantz and a 2023 third round draft pick, in return the Cougars have acquired 19 year old forward Cole Dubinsky.

Shantz has played four games with Prince George this season. The Sucker Creek product was the Cougars third round selection in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. Last season he had 57 (23G-34A) points with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep program.

This season Dubinsky had seven points in eleven games with the Pats. Last year he established career highs in goals, assists and points. He has played in 203 games with Regina spanning over six seasons. He was a fourth round selection by the Pats in the 2017 WHL Prospects Draft.

Regina returns to action on Saturday night when they host the Swift Current Broncos at the Brandt Centre.
