Its been a day.
The snow has eased off after falling steadily since Saturday afternoon. The snow was also driven by powerful winds with gusts touching 80 kilometres an hour. That has this higher than expected snowfall to accumulate in drifts. Some parts of roads have little snow, others have deep drifts, especially between the tire tracks, which caused more than a few cars to dig in, slide, and skid to a stop.
The City of Regina does have crews out working the major routes. Its expected the “snow routes” will go into effect when the city is set for a full plow.
Regina remains under a “Blowing Snow Advisory”, despite the fact the wind has eased off.
The snow and wind will continue to ease off by Monday morning in the Regina area, but flurries remain in the weather forecast off and on throughout the week.
