APAS is raising concerns about the high cost of producing food.
President Ian Boxall says 2021 was the most expensive year for farmers ever.
He says farm cash expenses in this province were over 11.5 billion dollars, 11 percent higher than the previous year.
He wants more price transparency for critical farm inputs.
Boxall says since 2019, glyphosate has increased 62 percent, fuel is up 52 percent, and the price of urea fertilizer is up 112 percent.
Boxall would like the Commons Agriculture Committee to look at the factors driving cost increases for fertilizer, fuel and other critical farm inputs.
