Grey Cup arrival highlights Grey Cup festivities

The Grey Cup will take its trip down Highway #11 as part of today’s Grey Cup Festival activities.

The Purlulator Highway Cup Run will kick off today as the Grey Cup starts its journey down Highway 11 to Regina.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service, the RCMP and the Canadian Armed Forces will send the iconic championship trophy to Regina, with some community stops along the way in Davidson, Chamberlain and Lumsden.

Indigenous leaders will be part of the procession to recognize and acknowledge the passing of the Cup from Treaty 6 to Treaty 4 territory.

The Grey Cup will arrive in Regina just before the kickoff party.

The free party officially launched the Grey Cup Festival and will see eight-time Juno Award-winning artist Colin James.

Also kicking off tonight is the Digital Zone presented by SaskTel.

Families, sports fans and tech gurus are invited to participate in the interactive area that features video games, sports experiences and interactive technology.

The Digital Zone will feature a head-to-head stage, field goal frenzy, a virtual pose with the pros, and a VR arcade.

The zone will run until Saturday at the Viterra International Trade Centre at REAL District.
