— League Leaders.  The Toronto Argonauts will be looking to extend their CFL record of 17 Grey Cup victories. Winnipeg ranks third all time in the league with 12 wins.

Three Time Champs?  The Blue Bombers will be looking to become the third CFL organization to win three straight Grey Cups post WWII , (Toronto 1945-47, Edmonton 1954-56,

— Been there, Done That. Of the 24 projected starters for Winnipeg, 13 of them will be making their third straight Grey Cup appearance.

— Third Time the Charm for Speedy B?  The Blue Bombers are not the only ones playing in their third Grey Cup, Brandon Banks was defeated by the Bombers in the previous two Grey Cups.

A Fix for Six. The Argos Ja’Gared Davis is participating in his 6th straight Grey Cup, the last player to do this was Hank Ilesic (1977-83)

— It’s Been Awhile. The last time the Bombers and the Argos met in the Grey Cup was the 1950 Mud Bowl. Today’s game will mark the end of the longest ever continuous gap all-time between meetings of any two traditional East-West teams.

— To the Moon. With a win, Zach Collaros would become the first quarterback to lead his team to three straight Grey Cup wins since Warren Moon did that with Edmonton.

— Delayed Offence. The last team to score on their opening drive of a Grey Cup, was Ottawa back in 2016.

— Sack Attack.  Between 2006-2021 over 59 possessions, only one team has allowed a sack and gone to score a TD in the same drive. (Calgary 2017)

— Better to Wait than to Receive.  Teams that received the opening kickoff have not won the Grey Cup since 2012. The last team to receive the opening kickoff and score, the Toronto Argonauts.
