Pats kickoff B.C. road trip against Giants

 

The Regina Pats are about to begin a tour through British Columbia, as they will play their next five games along with the west coast. Tonight they will meet the Vancouver Giants.

It has been a few days since Regina was last in action, as they were defeated Winnipeg on Saturday in their last game.

Tonight will be a big night for Pats captain Connor Bedard. Not only will the North Vancouver product will be playing a “home” game, but he will be appearing in his 100th career game. Bedard begins tonight’s action on a 21 game point streak including nine straight multi-point games with 26 points (9G-17A) during that span.

The last time the Pats faced the Giants was October of 2019.

This week saw Regina make some moves to shuffle their roster, they acquired 2002-born forward Riley Ginnell from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a 2026 fifth round draft pick. The team also released forwards Jakob Brook (Dauphin MJHL) and Logan Linklater (Kindersley SJHL).

Beginning tonight’s action, the Pats are in seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with a one point edge ahead of Medicine Hat who sits in eighth spot.

After tonight’s game Regina will be in Victoria tomorrow, Kelowna on Tuesday, on Wednesday they’re in Kamloops and then they will conclude the B.C. portion of their trip in Prince George next Friday.
