Agriculture minister David Marit says Canadian Western Agribition in Regina is an important economic engine.

Marit, speaking at the opening of the week-long show Monday, says the show enables producers to showcase their livestock genetics to dozens of foreign visitors from places like Mongolia to Peru.

Marit says he is also happy for the return of thousands of school kids touring through the barns to see the best in Saskatchewan livestock during Agribition week.

This the first show for school kids since 2019 due to Covid restrictions.
