Sask. residents feel worse about their finances than any other province

Saskatchewan residents are not only trying to escape from the cold weather but also inflation, as it has struck around the country for the majority of the year.

According to new data from the Agnus Reid Institute, 59 per cent of Saskatchewan residents feel worse off financially this year than last. Only 14 per cent of Saskatchewan residents said they are better off financially than last year.

That number was the highest in the country and higher than the national average of 50 per cent.

Those in the province aren’t too optimistic for the future, as just 17 per cent believe they will be in a better financial position one year from now, while 42 per cent believe things will get worse.

That number was also the highest in the country.
