Agriculture minister David Marit has some concerns about Ottawas consultation process on a sustainable agriculture strategy.

Ottawa is looking for input from farmers and others on policies that will help shape the future of agriculture in this country.

Marit fears a top down approach from Ottawa with more restrictive farm regulations.

Marit also fears the federal government won’t recognize the important environmental and sustainable steps farmers have already taken.

The federal consultation process will continue now until the end of March.
