Canada meets Slovakia ahead of World Juniors

 

Team Canada will take part in their second exhibition game ahead of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships on Wednesday night against Slovakia.

Tonight’s game will be the last one for Canada in Moncton, following tonight the team will head to Halifax for the remainder of the tournament.

Canada got off to a strong start on Monday picking up a 6-0 win against Switzerland.

Regina Pats forward Connor Bedard collected three assists in the victory. This morning, Bedard was skating on the Canadians top line at practice with Seattle Kraken’s Shane Wright and Peterborough Petes forward Brennan Othmann.

Benjamin Gaudreau will get the start this evening against Slovakia. Seattle Thunderbirds netminder Thomas Milic earned the shutout win on Monday as he made 19 saves for the shutout.

Canada’s final exhibition game will go Friday when they meet Finland. The World Juniors begin on Boxing Day, when Canada takes on Czechia in the opening game.
