“TreeCycle” ready to take in your Christmas Tree

Once the wrapping is ripped off, the meal is served, and piles of leftovers fill the fridge, our thoughts turn to “what to do with the Christmas Tree after Christmas”

The City of Regina has you covered.

The “TreeCycle” program is back. People can drop off their live Christmas Trees for free at the Regina Yard Waste Dept at the landfill.

Residents dropped off almost 43 tonnes of recycled trees to the depot last season – the weight of two-and-a-half Regina Transit buses – which is converted to valuable compost material. In the spring, that compost will be offered to residents at no charge.

Trees will be accepted up until January 31st. The city also has tips on how to recycle, or re-gift your artificial tree as well.

You can find them on the city’s website
