Frost Festival Regina seeking volunteers

Regina’s 2023 Frost Festival is looking for volunteers for the second annual event, taking place next month.
Charlene Oancia with Frost Festival Regina explains the wide scope that Frost will have this year.
“We need a host of volunteers for around the city to help with a variety of different events that will be featured down in Wascana Park, down on (the) REAL District, in the downtown area and in the Warehouse District area,” Oancia said. “So there’s a lot of variety and different programming.”
Some people might have experience volunteering with major events like the Grey Cup Festival. Oancia explained they have people with different levels of experience who are interested this year.
“We do have some of our core volunteers that help out in the community all the time,” she said. “But then we are seeing new people and we are accepting new volunteers as well.”
The Festival has four hubs – downtown, REAL District, Warehouse and Wascana. Wascana, for example, will have themed skate nights, family games and dog sledding, among other events.
When it comes to how you can volunteer, Oancia said right now, it’s all self-scheduling.
“You can volunteer as much or as little as you like,” she said. “We have two orientation sessions and we’re asking people to attend one of those sessions if they volunteer.”
The Frost Festival runs Feb. 3 to 12 throughout the city. You can sign up at Frostregina.com/volunteers
